KI LaClair, YOU ARE AN IRONMAN....AGAIN!
Yep. She did it. It was a long day and there were bumps in the road. Not her beat time, but she finished safe, strong, and had fun. All goals met.
Best,
Melissa

Waiting for KI to finish
As details of the day have unfolded, we've learned that KI stopped during the swim to help someone who was panicking, got into a bit of a crack up on the bike that involved her being hit by another cyclist. Her Perpetuum Solids didn't do so well in her belly either. Given all that, she still did exceptionally well today, and was super strong on her run.
She should be in the oval in 15 minutes or so...and we can't wait to see her!!

Home Stretch!
KI just passed the horse show grounds heading back into town toward the finish. She looks INCREDIBLE!!
We left our music playlist running for the masses and are zipping in to town to get in position and be ready to cheer her in for the finish.
A-MA-ZING

Melissa

KI is. amazing.
We've been out here the horse show grounds dancing like fools for hours. Yeah, we are hot and tired. But will we complain? Never. The last time we saw KI, she had traveled 2.4 miles in the water, 112 miles on her bike, and about 10 on her feet as she's almost halfway through a marathon of 26.2 miles. Total by the time she stops moving today? 140.6 miles under her own power.
She is having a fantastic day. Romi ran with her a bit, as did her coach Krista Schultz. She looks great, and as always, has a big grin for us when we see her. She says she gets it from the kids. I believe her.

Dan looks fantastic!
Dan just passed the horse show grounds on the way out for his first loop of the marathon. He looks super strong.
We are waiting for KI to come along shortly.

Well into the bike
Pro Andy Potts (pictured with the kids on the ironman site) is the top ranked pro, and is leading the race. He came through on his bike a short bit ago.
KI is well past her first 30 mile split at an hour and a half at an average speed of 19.9 mph. We expect to see her around lunch time.

Back at the Ranch
The kids are having a great time, making friends with the neighbors, and enjoyed a pancake breakfast with Tapped Oak maple syrup. Hunter was well aware he had his photo take. While eating a white (not multigrain) bagel. Sorry Mom!
GREAT swim!!
KI did an amazing job on her swim. We were expecting 40-45 minutes per lap and she did 37 and 39 for a combined 1:15:34
Danny rocked his swim as well. 34 and 39 for a combined 1:13:59.
IronAndy also had a great swim, out of the water in 1:14.
